Intent: To put forward SSEs view on the Draft Donegal County Development Plan 2018 - 2024 and Environmental Report.::To highlight the need to support the development of clean energy, such as onshore wind to help deliver the CDP's strategic objective and outlined the significant economic contribution made by the wind energy sector.::Highlighted that the restrictions placed on wind development are disproportionate compared to other forms of development i.e setback distances which are considerably greater than those outlined in the Wind Energy Guidelines 2006.::SSE argued that the County Development Plans should reflect Government energy policy which was not forthcoming in the proposals::We noted and welcome the support of offshore wind development in Irish waters.

Intent: Calling on Donegal Councillors to ensure that the proposed increase in commercial rates of 5% is not put in place. While there has been some recovery in the trade in recent years 2017 was very challenging for the pub trade in Donegal primarily due to the loss of the British Tourist trade. If put in place jobs will be lost and some small businesses will close.
