Intent: To highlight that Bord Bia is responsible for the Quality Assurance standards on Irish farms. It is Bord Bia which inspect farms to ensure these standards. Farmers are constantly told that the customers want high standards. Yet now farmers find out that the Chair of Bord Bia's company Dawn Farm Foods is using Brazilian beef apparently at the behest of these same customers.::That IFA along with other farm organisations were scheduled to be in discussions with Bord Bia about Quality Assurance standards on farms. As farmer representatives, IFA cannot expect farmers to engage in meetings on standards while the Chair uses Brazilian beef.::To appeal to both the Minister for Agriculture and the Chair of Bord Bia to realise that prolonging this issue is not in anybody's interest and to put forward a proposal that the Chair should stand down, in the interests of Bord Bia and in the interests of Irish farming. Intent: Highlight the slow progress in building of social housing and highlighting the effect lack of private development has on employers. This included not having serviced sites and the issues with Uisce Eireann in terms of the development land South of the River.

Intent: Update on community engagement. Biannual meeting with executive and elected members. The result is that Councillors understand issues pertinent to the town centre.

Intent: To voice farmers' anger and frustration at the ever-increasing administrative burden being placed on them which has had a major impact on farm family incomes.::These frustrations have broadened into anger with European and National lawmakers over the massive increase in regulations relating to Agriculture. The EU, the Irish Government and local Government are devising policies far from the farm gate with little or no consideration of the direct impact on farmers.::The following are some of the key issues that are contributing to growing frustration and anger with the political system::1. The transformation of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) away from supporting food production towards actually reducing farm output. The Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) funding is being redirected to environmental schemes – the EU is effectively implementing new environmental regulations such as the “eco-schemes” on the cheap by redirecting existing funding instead of allocating additional funds.::2
