Intent: That this Council demand of An Taoiseach, Micheál Martin, T.D. Minister for Agriculture, Food, Fisheries and the Marine, Mr. Martin Heydon, T.D., and the Government, the immediate dismissal of Larry Murrin as Chairman of Bord Bia, due to the importation of Brazilian Beef by Dawn Farm Foods Ltd., the company of which he is the CEO. This is a conflict of interests and hypocrisy at a time when exceptionally high standards are being demanded of Irish farmers. ::Following a short debate on the motion, the Cathaoirleach put the motion to the members, and it was agreed unanimously.

Intent: To highlight that Irish and European farmers have continually voiced their opposition to any conclusion of the Mercosur Trade Agreement which has the potential to decimate the Irish and European beef and poultry sectors. The proposed addendum reflecting measures for implementation of environmental law does not provide sufficiently robust safeguards for Euro
