Intent: Reduction of the proposed increase in development contributions for onshore wind farm developments.::SSE argued that adequate justification for the reasons behind the proposed increase was not presented within the consultation, and that the increase was contrary to national government policy. SSE also argued that the Council had not properly recognised energy infrastructure as a contributor to the national energy supply and a driver of economic growth, through avenues such as local direct investment, job creation, rates and renewable development community benefit.
Details: In its response to Kerry County Council’s consultation on Proposed Draft Development Contributions Scheme 2017 (DCS), SSE advocated strongly against the proposed tenfold increase in the development contribution level proposed for onshore wind.
Intent: To oppose the draft Development Contribution Scheme 2017 for developments in County Kerry, to include development contributions to agricultural developments and also to one-off housing developments.::To demonstrate the value and contribution of the agriculture sector to County Kerry, with over 8000 farmers and a farming area in excess of 280,000 ha, with 9500 people employed directly at farm level::To demonstrate that any introduction to development charges would prevent farmers from undertaking necessary investments on farms
