Intent: To address the severe income difficulties livestock farmers are encountering as a result of falling prices, increased costs and reduced direct payments.::To seek support for livestock farmers as these difficulties have escalated into a crises due to the fall in cattle prices, the weakness of sterling and the uncertainty around Brexit.

Intent: To ensure that cattle price returns are in line with the EU/UK average and to ensure that farmers get a fair price for their cattle to ensure a income as they are encountering severe income difficulties as a result of the falling prices.::A comprehensive package of market supports and direct aid for farmers from the EU Commission.::EU State Aid limitations on Members States must be set-aside.::Strongly support the live export trade to double numbers in 2019 and ensure that no further restrictions are imposed on the trade.::Urgent meeting with Minister Creed to discuss Beef Crisis, Prices and EU Support Measures

Intent: Follow up to meeting with Exporters to discuss action points and issues requiring attention.::Propose that Ireland should target a doubling of live export numbers in 2019.::Maximising the export of calves over the next number of months is an absolute priority.::Improve Ferry Facilities::Improve Lairage Facilities - In order to maximise calf exports, exporters expressed the view it is essential that there are adequate lairage facilities for the volume of Irish calves in the peak March/April/May sales period.::Proposed changes to the EU regulations requiring that the assembly period for live exports to be reduced from 29 days to only 14 days - Strong view is that this would be very damaging and severely restrict the live export trade.
