Intent: Advice on whether there would be support at officer and executive level for a rezoning through material variation for c12ha of land in Bishopstown County Cork
Details: Advice sought on variation of development plan under Section 13 of the Planning and Development Act 2000 as amended

Methods: There were 2 no. meetings I attended, on 21st January 2020 and 3rd March 2020, both in the City Hall. The first meeting was attended by Ann Doherty CEO, Adrienne Rogers Director of Planning and Fearghal Reidy Director of Services Strategic and Economic Development. The second meeting was attended by Mr Reidy and Ronan MacKiernan Senior Executive Planner Strategic and Economic Development. The purpose of both meetings was to ascertain whether the City Council would be willing to support a rezoning of these lands given the relatively recent city boundary extension. The 2nd meeting focused on whether a variation as opposed to waiting on the plan formulation process expected to occur later this year would receive a reasonable level of acceptance from the officers and what concerns the council would want addressed in any formal submission. The review of the City Plan has been delayed twice since our meeting and a variation is our client's preferred route to a rezoning therefore. - Meeting
