Intent: To remove content of the proposed Heritage Bill that will alter section 40 of the Wildlife Act thus reducing protection for hedgerows and uplands.
Details: Requested the Local Councillor to ask their Senators to support amendment to Heritage Bill 2016.
Intent: Details on how a system could work and the economic and social benefits were presented. It was hoped that the cllrs would push forward with the introduction of a trial period of free parking as a means to stimulate the town and surrounding area. It is vital to the continued growth and development of Carlow that this matter is addresses, the Council and elected officials have a duty to the people and businesses in Carlow
Details: Proposal to trial a period of free parking in areas of Carlow town to encourage economic growth and development. This follows submissions lodged with the Council in early 2016. The Love Carlow Task Force survey also highlighted parking as an issue.
Intent: The Councillors must work as a collective to help reverse the current situation in Carlow town. The Chamber have established the Love Carlow Task force and the inclusion and involvement of all stakeholders is vital. The Cllrs must be made aware of what is happening and they must focus on working to ensure the correct resources are allocated to deal with the issues, budgetary challenges must be delivered and suggestions and involvement is imperative.
Details: Carlow Chamber have serious concerns on the direction of Carlow Town and following public meetings many areas need to be addressed. Presentation of the public realm, derelict buildings/vacant units, attracting business are some of the areas under discussion and that need attention.
