Intent: The Law Society met with representatives from the Department of Justice to discuss various topics, with a view to providing inputs and insights on behalf of the Law Society.

Details: Discussed the following topics with the Department of Justice: - Courts reform including the implementation of the Mediation Council - Civil legal aid - Law reform including the Civil Reform Bill and eConveyancing - The profession generally, including access to the profession and legal deserts.

Intent: Contribute to the design and development of the criminal legal aid scheme.

Details: Meeting to discuss the modernisation of legal aid with the Department of Justice

Intent: Request that a representative of the Council be invited to become a member of your group to ensure that the views and perspectives of the profession can be heard and considered during the deliberations to implement the recommendations of the Judicial Planning Working Group Report.
