Intent: Clarification and amendments to the Gambling Regulation Bill published on 6 December 2022 especially in relation to: (i) implications of the proposed pre-watershed restriction on gambling advertising broadcast on TV; (ii) the practical difficulties with proposed restrictions on gambling advertising on digital and social media platforms; (iii) the wide ambit of the ban on 'inducements' to participate in gambling and (iv) clarification on bookmakers' sponsorship of horse racing. ::Amendments and/or clarification to the Gambling Regulation Bill 2022 which will enable Racing TV, which is owned and operated by RMG and which includes, amongst others, Irish racing, to continue to make available coverage of Irish racing to Irish residents. RMG is also involved in betting advertising by broadcast and sponsorship of Irish races by bookmakers and clarification is sought on the impact and scope of the Gambling regulation Bill 2022.
