Intent: Highlight the challenges experienced by employers (who use work permits) due to the sudden MAR increases in January 2025 (only announced in December 2024). Going forward, propose adjusting MAR thresholds gradually, with sufficient notice and in line with CSO stats, and sector-specific MAR adjustments ::NOTE: this was a public consultation and as such potentially exempt from a lobbying return obligation. However the return is filed out of an abundance of caution as DETE has not yet released the results of the consultation nor published submissions made.
