Intent: ERP contacted Minister Alan Kelly and Principal Officer, Philip Nugent requesting that they consider implementing the findings of the Producer Responsibility Initiative (PRI) Review as part of the new permit approvals. Specifically ERP would like to see the historical environmental management costs (EMC) reserves held by each compliance scheme balanced to reflect producers moving between the schemes and ERP’s increase in market share since 2005;::That the new permit addresses the fact that there is considerably more historical WEEE in Ireland than was estimated in the early years of the system.
