Intent: ACEI was invited to attend a meeting on 4 June 2025 called by DPER to a structured discussion on accelerating infrastructure delivery - ACEI met with the New Accelerating Infrastructure Unit and Contributed to the new unit by completing their questionnaire.

Intent: Positive meeting with Minister Troy held in person at the Department of Finance. Promised continued engagement with the Department and the Minister on how our sector can accelerate the delivery of housing, infrastructure, and climate change mitigation over the coming decade. How the Minister and the Department through minimal policy changes could enhance our sector’s capacity and as a result accelerate Ireland’s ability to deliver housing and infrastructure in a sustainable manner.

Intent: Meeting with new OPW Chair held at OPW offices 30 July 2025 - ACEI set out the challenges facing the consulting engineering sector and the need for the OPW and other contracting authorities and wider Government to make sure public sector projects were attractive with the context of scarce resources and a busy pipeline of activity.

Intent: The Minister thanked the delegation for its input and asked for continued engagement with them on the removal of barriers to the delivery of the State’s housing and infrastructure requirements.

Intent: A letter was sent to Minister Emer Higgin congratulating her on her appointment. This letter included an introduction on the work of ACEI. In closing, we said that we (ACEI) look forward to working with her in the coming years and would appreciate a meeting to outline barriers to the efficient and sustainable delivery of housing and infrastructure within the State at your earliest convenience.

Intent: A letter was sent to Minister Peter Burke congratulating him on his reappointment as Minister for Enterprise, Tourism and Employment. This letter included an introduction on the work of ACEI. However, our sector faces many challenges impinging on our ability to deliver sustainable design on behalf of the State. We would appreciate an opportunity to talk with you and your officials about these issues at your earliest convenience.
